Plain English summary: LinkTeen is the first safest structured professional ecosystem for teens 13+. To use it, you must be a real student, get your parent's approval, be kind and honest, and use the platform only for its intended purpose.

1. Eligibility

To create a LinkTeen account, you must:

  • Be 13 years of age or older at the time of registration
  • Be a currently enrolled student at an accredited US school (middle school, high school, or college)
  • Reside in the United States (international expansion coming in the future)
  • Provide accurate and truthful information during registration
  • Have parental or legal guardian consent if you are under 18

3. Your account

  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure
  • You may only have one account — duplicate accounts are prohibited
  • Your account is personal and non-transferable
  • You must use your real name and accurate information — fake or impersonation accounts are prohibited
  • You must notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised at security@linkteen.org

5. Your content

When you post content on LinkTeen, you:

  • Retain ownership of your content
  • Grant LinkTeen a non-exclusive license to display your content to other verified members
  • Confirm that your content is accurate, original, and does not infringe on any third party's rights
  • Understand that public profile content may be visible to all verified LinkTeen members

LinkTeen does not claim ownership of anything you post. We will never use your content for advertising or sell it to third parties.

8. Account termination

LinkTeen may suspend or terminate your account at any time if:

  • You violate these Terms of Service
  • Your enrollment verification cannot be confirmed
  • Parental consent is withdrawn
  • You are found to have provided false information during registration
  • Your conduct poses a safety risk to other members

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your data will be removed within 30 days.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify active members by email at least 14 days before significant changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

4. Community rules

LinkTeen is built on the idea that teens deserve a professional, respectful, and safe space online.

You agree to

✓Be honest — only post information that is true and represents you accurately
✓Be respectful — treat every member with kindness and professionalism
✓Be real — use your real identity and genuine accomplishments
✓Be constructive — give helpful, encouraging feedback to peers
✓Report — flag any content or behavior that makes you or others feel unsafe

You agree NOT to

The following behaviors will result in immediate account termination with no warning.
✗Harass, bully, threaten, or demean any member
✗Post sexual, violent, or otherwise inappropriate content
✗Impersonate another person or organization
✗Share another member's private information without their consent
✗Attempt to contact minors in an inappropriate, romantic, or predatory manner
✗Spam, solicit, or promote commercial products or services
✗Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
✗Attempt to scrape, hack, or disrupt the platform
✗Create fake accounts, fake schools, or misrepresent your identity

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Santa Clara County, California.
