Every LinkTeen member — whether they signed up online or through a signed paper form — goes through the same parental consent standard before their profile goes live.
A parent or guardian receives a secure, one-time verification email. They confirm their identity and relationship to the teen before the account is ever activated — powered by SuperAwesome KWS, used in 180+ countries.
Consent links expire after 7 days. No profile goes live without a completed step.
Used for in-person events, where a teen and their parent/guardian sign a physical form together on the spot. An admin transcribes the signed form into the system, recording who collected it and the date it was signed.
Every paper application still passes through the same review queue as online applications before a member number is assigned.
Every account under 18 requires a parent or guardian to approve, whichever way they registered.
Adults cannot message teens directly without mutual connection approval.
Every profile is tied to a verified identity. No anonymous accounts, no fake personas.
No harassment, bullying, or inappropriate content. Every report is reviewed by a person, not just an algorithm.
Public profiles show a first name, last initial, country, and wins — never full contact details, school name, or exact location.
Parents can view their teen's connections, activity, and settings at any time, and revoke access instantly.
LinkTeen collects a teen's name, date of birth, country, email, and parent/guardian contact information to verify eligibility and consent. Date of birth, email address, and parent contact details are never shown publicly — they exist only to confirm age and consent. Public profile pages show a name, country, role or interests, and any wins a member chooses to share.
LinkTeen is a non-profit. We do not sell data, and we do not run ads. Full detail on what's collected, how long it's kept, and a parent or guardian's right to review or delete their teen's information is in our Privacy Policy.
Any member or parent can report a concern about content, a message, or another member's behavior. Reports are reviewed by a person on our team — not resolved by an algorithm alone — and we aim to respond within 48 hours.
If a teen or parent is in immediate danger, please contact local emergency services first.
We're happy to walk through our process in more detail.
